Sign up takes about thirty seconds. You'll need:
- A display name — how others will see your name (e.g. "Natasha Steeves")
- A username — your handle for sign-in and your profile URL (e.g.
@natashasteeves) - An email we can confirm and use for password resets
- A password of at least 8 characters
Display name vs username
Your display name is what other people see. Your username is your login and the slug of your profile URL. Display names can be changed once every 30 days. Usernames can be changed once every 90 days. If you genuinely need an earlier change (marriage, name correction, vocational shift), you can request one from your profile settings and an admin will review it.
Email confirmation
We send a confirmation link to the email you signed up with. Until you click it, certain features (posting publicly, following people) are restricted. Check your spam folder if you don't see it within five minutes.
Gender field
This is asked during sign-up and never displayed publicly. We use it for things like gender-specific reading groups and pastoral content matching. The default is "prefer not to say" and you can change it anytime.
